Ideas by Telegram

Ideas come when you are away from the board. The Taskgert Telegram bot turns what you send it, typed or spoken, into an Idea in your project, under your name. An agent or a teammate refines it later (see Concepts: an Idea is never handed out by a Taskgert until it becomes a task).

  1. In Taskgert, open Settings → Telegram and choose Link Telegram.
  2. Open the bot with the button, or send it the command shown: /link CODE.
  3. The card turns to Linked as soon as the bot has used the code.

A code works once and for 15 minutes. One chat is linked to one person; linking the chat again moves it. Unlink in the same card stops the chat from acting as you at once.

Send Ideas

Any textCreates an Idea: the first sentence is its title, the whole text its description
A voice note (up to 10 min)Transcribes it and shows what it heard, with Save and Discard: nothing is created until you confirm
/projectLists your projects and says where your Ideas go
/project KEYSends your Ideas to that project (one where you can create tasks)
/run [note]Asks to run the project's pending tasks: an agent proposes Taskgerts here, to approve or reject
/helpThe commands

Confirming a voice note. If the transcript is wrong, do not press Save: just send the corrected text, and it becomes the Idea instead. A transcript waits for one hour; a newer voice note replaces it. If the bot restarted in between, a button answers that the note is no longer pending: send it again.

The reply links to the new Idea. The Idea is created as you: your permissions apply, the activity log and live notifications name you, and its description ends with where it came from.

Notifications

A linked chat also hears about what matters away from the board, following your live notifications setting (Settings: everything, only your tasks, or nothing), and never about your own changes:

MessageWhen
✅ Your idea is now a taskAn Idea (yours, with "only my tasks") is refined into a Task
▶️ Started / 🎉 finishedA task moves into a working column, or into a done column
❓ A decision waitsA critical decision is added to a task: answer it in the task
🏁 Taskgert finishedA Taskgert ends, with its verdict (with "only my tasks": the ones you created)

Messages come in your Taskgert language, with a link to the task. They are queued by the API and sent by the bot, which alone holds the Telegram token; messages the bot could not take within a day are dropped.

Long Ideas from the web

The board takes Ideas the same way. The light bulb in a column's Add a task field switches it to one long text: write the idea as it comes, with no title limit; the preview shows the title it will get. Ctrl/⌘ + Enter adds it.

Privacy and security

  • Voice notes are transcribed by a self-hosted Whisper next to Taskgert: the audio never goes to a third party, and only the transcript is kept.
  • The bot only answers private chats.
  • The bot calls the API with a service secret shared only between the two (TELEGRAM_SERVICE_SECRET); it can do nothing on its own, only act for the person linked to the chat that wrote.
  • Linking codes are single-use, expire in 15 minutes, and wrong ones are rate limited like sign-ins.
